Privacy and Data Management Policy

This document informs you, as a visitor to our website and as a user of our services, about our company’s rules on data processing and data protection.

1. What principles do we follow in our data processing?

In the course of data processing, our company follows the principles set out below:

  • We process personal data lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner for you.

  • We collect personal data only for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes and do not process them in a manner incompatible with those purposes.

  • The personal data we collect and process are adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed.

  • We take all reasonable measures to ensure that the data we process are accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date; we delete or rectify inaccurate personal data without delay.

  • We store personal data in a form which permits identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed.

  • By applying appropriate technical and organisational measures, we ensure adequate security of personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.

Our company processes your personal data:

  • Based on your prior, informed, and voluntary consent, and only to the extent necessary and always for a specific purpose — meaning we collect, record, organise, store, and use them for that purpose only.

  • In certain cases, the processing of your data is based on legal requirements and is mandatory; in such cases, we will draw your attention to this fact separately.

  • In certain cases, the processing of your personal data is based on the legitimate interest of our company or that of a third party — for example, the operation, development, and security of our website.

3.What are cookies and how do we manage them?

Cookies are small data files (hereinafter: cookies) which, through the use of the website, are placed on your computer by your internet browser and stored there. The most commonly used internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) by default accept and allow the downloading and use of cookies; however, it is up to you to modify your browser settings to refuse or disable them, or to delete cookies already stored on your computer.

You can find more detailed information about the use of cookies in the “Help” section of each browser.

There are cookies that do not require your prior consent. Our website will provide you with brief information about these upon your first visit. Such cookies include authentication cookies, multimedia player cookies, load balancing cookies, user interface customisation session cookies, and user-centric security cookies.

For cookies requiring consent — where data processing begins upon visiting the site — our company will inform you on your first visit and request your consent.

Our company does not use or permit the use of cookies that enable third parties to collect data without your consent.

4.Additional information about our website-related data processing

You provide your personal data to us voluntarily during registration or when communicating with our company. Therefore, we kindly request that you pay particular attention to the authenticity, accuracy, and correctness of the data you provide, as you are responsible for them. Incorrect, inaccurate, or incomplete data may prevent you from using our services.

If you provide personal data of another person instead of your own, we will assume that you have the necessary authorisation to do so.

You may withdraw your consent to data processing at any time, free of charge:

  • by deleting your registration,

  • by withdrawing your consent to data processing, or

  • by withdrawing or requesting the blocking of consent to the processing or use of any data required to be completed during registration.

Due to technical reasons, we undertake to register the withdrawal of consent within 30 days. However, please note that we may continue to process certain data after the withdrawal of consent in order to fulfil our legal obligations or to enforce our legitimate interests.

If misleading personal data is used, or if any of our visitors commits a criminal offence or attacks our company’s system, we will immediately terminate the registration of the visitor concerned and delete their data simultaneously, or — if necessary — retain them for the duration of establishing civil liability or conducting criminal proceedings.

5. What should you know about our direct marketing and newsletter-related data processing?

By making a declaration during registration, or later by modifying your stored personal data in the newsletter and/or direct marketing registration interface (that is, by clearly expressing your intention to give consent), you may grant your consent for us to use your personal data for marketing purposes. In this case, until the withdrawal of your consent, we will process your data for the purposes of sending direct marketing and/or newsletters, and will send you advertisements and other mailings, as well as information and offers, and/or forward newsletters to you (Section 6 of Act XLVIII of 2008 on the Basic Requirements and Certain Restrictions of Commercial Advertising Activities).

You may give your consent for direct marketing and newsletters together or separately, and may withdraw them free of charge at any time.

Deleting your registration will in all cases be considered a withdrawal of consent. The withdrawal of consent for direct marketing and/or newsletter purposes does not automatically mean the withdrawal of consent for our website-related data processing.

In relation to consent, each consent is for a specific purpose. Therefore, registration on the website and subscription to the newsletter are two separate purposes and two separate databases; the two cannot be linked.

Due to technical reasons, we undertake to register the withdrawal of consent or cancellation within 15 days.

6. What should you know about prize draws?

Our company may organise prize draws as part of promotional campaigns, the specific conditions of which are included in a separate set of rules. The current promotion’s rules can always be found on our website’s homepage via a prominently placed link.

7. Other data processing issues

We may only transfer your data within the limits defined by law, and in the case of our data processors we ensure by contractual terms that they cannot use your personal data for purposes contrary to your consent. For further information, please refer to Section 2.

Our company does not transfer data abroad.

Courts, public prosecutors, and other authorities (e.g., police, tax authority, the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information) may request our company to provide information, disclose data, or make documents available. In these cases, we must comply with the data provision obligation, but only to the extent strictly necessary to achieve the purpose of the request.

Participants and employees involved in our company’s data processing and/or data management are entitled to access your personal data to a pre-defined extent and are bound by a confidentiality obligation.

We protect your personal data with appropriate technical and other measures, ensuring the security and availability of the data, and protecting them from unauthorised access, alteration, damage, disclosure, or any other unauthorised use.

As part of organisational measures, we control physical access in our buildings, continuously train our employees, and store paper-based documents with appropriate protection. As part of technical measures, we use encryption, password protection, and antivirus software.

However, please note that data transmission over the internet cannot be considered completely secure. Our company will do its best to make the processes as secure as possible; however, we cannot take full responsibility for data transmission through our website, but we do comply with strict rules to protect and prevent unauthorised access to data received by our company.

Regarding security, we ask for your cooperation in keeping your website access password safe and not sharing it with anyone.

8. What are your rights and legal remedies?

You may request information about data processing, request the rectification, modification, or completion of your personal data processed by us, object to data processing, and request the deletion or blocking of your data (except for mandatory data processing).

You may seek legal remedy before a court, or lodge a complaint and initiate proceedings with the supervisory authority:

Supervisory Authority: National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH)

Address: 1125 Budapest, Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor 22/c.

Postal address: 1530 Budapest, P.O. Box 5.

Phone: +36 (1) 391-1400

Fax: +36 (1) 391-1410

E-mail: ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu

Website: https://naih.hu

Upon your request, we will inform you about:

  • your data processed by us, or processed by a data processor engaged by us,

  • the source of the data,

  • the purpose and legal basis of data processing,

  • the duration of processing, or, if this is not possible, the criteria used to determine that period,

  • the name, address, and activities related to data processing of our data processors,

  • the circumstances, effects, and measures taken to prevent or remedy personal data breaches, and

  • in the case of your personal data being transferred, the legal basis and recipient of such transfers.

We will provide our information within 15 days (but no later than 1 month) from the submission of your request. The information is free of charge unless you have submitted a request for information concerning the same data set in the current year. We will refund any fees you have already paid if the data were processed unlawfully or if the request for information led to rectification. We may only refuse to provide information in cases prescribed by law, by indicating the legal provision, and informing you of the possibility of judicial remedy and of turning to the supervisory authority.

Our company will inform you and all those to whom it has previously transmitted the data for processing purposes of the rectification, blocking, marking, or deletion of personal data, unless the failure to do so does not harm your legitimate interest.

If we do not comply with your request for rectification, blocking, or deletion, within 15 days (but no later than 1 month) from the receipt of the request, we will communicate the reasons for our refusal in writing or — with your consent — electronically, and inform you about the possibility of judicial remedy and of turning to the supervisory authority.

If you object to the processing of your personal data, we will examine your objection within 15 days (but no later than 1 month) from the submission of the request and inform you in writing of our decision. If we determine that your objection is well-founded, we will terminate the data processing — including further data collection and transmission — and block the data, and inform all those to whom the data concerned by the objection had previously been transmitted, and who are obliged to take action to enforce the right to object, of the objection and the measures taken based on it.

We will refuse to comply with the request if we can prove that data processing is justified by compelling legitimate grounds which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or which are related to the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. If you disagree with our decision or if we miss the deadline, you may turn to a court within 30 days of the communication of the decision or of the last day of the deadline.

The assessment of data protection lawsuits falls within the jurisdiction of the regional court; the lawsuit may also be brought before the regional court competent for your place of residence or stay, at your choice. A foreign citizen may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority competent for their place of residence.

We kindly request that, before turning to the supervisory authority or the court with your complaint, you first contact our company to allow for consultation and a quicker resolution of the issue.

9. What are the main applicable laws governing our activities?

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data
